Questions, answered
What is Set Pointe?
A competitive tennis ladder league for your city. You play real best-of-three matches against people at your level, whenever it suits you both. It's a great way to make new tennis friends, explore courts around your area, and improve your game.
How much does it cost?
$50 per ladder, per season. That covers unlimited matches for the season and a shot at the championship.
Can I join more than one ladder?
Yes. Many players join singles and a doubles ladder. Each ladder is a separate $50 entry. You can play in up to two championship finals per season.
How do I schedule a match?
Open your ladder and tap Propose a Match. Pick a date, time and court, and add any notes. Everyone on your ladder sees it and anyone can accept. Or browse Proposed Matches and accept one that fits your week.
What happens after someone accepts?
The match is marked Full. It stays visible on the ladder but nobody else can accept it. You'll both see each other's phone and email so you can confirm.
Who enters the score?
Either player, the same day if possible. Scores entered during the week are pending until the Sunday night update.
When do standings change?
Every Sunday at 11:59 PM Eastern. Points from that week's matches are added and the ladder is re-ranked.
What if I can't play for a while?
If you have no match reported in 14 days you'll drop two spots at the weekly update. One match resets the clock.
What if it rains?
Finish the match from where you stopped as soon as you can. The original challenger stays the challenger.
How does the championship work?
After the last week of the season the top two on each ladder arrange a final on their own schedule. The winner gets next season free plus a cash prize.
My city isn't listed. Can we start a league?
Yes. Choose your state, scroll down, and send a league request with your city and the courts you play at.
Do I need to be a USTA member?
No. But if you have a USTA rating, you can't join a ladder below it.
Is there an age requirement?
Players must be 18 or older.
Can I get a refund?
If you're injured or can't play before your first match of the season, you'll get a one-time credit for the next season.
